For the Cracovia Hokej section, we designed and implemented a modern system for displaying the ice rink timetable, which streamlines the day-to-day organisation of training sessions, matches and rink bookings. The aim of the project was to create a tool that would be easy to use for players and coaches, as well as parents and those responsible for managing the facility. The project began with an analysis of user needs and the design of the interface in Figma, and was subsequently implemented as a responsive web application.
The challenge
A single ice rink hosts training sessions for a range of age groups and teams. Traditional timetables published as tables, PDF files or Google Calendars were difficult to navigate, and users struggled to quickly find the dates they were interested in.
An additional challenge was to enable the easy export of selected timetables to personal calendars, without the need to manually copy and paste dates.
UX/UI Design
Prior to implementation, we prepared a complete interface design in Figma, focusing on ease of use and quick access to key information. We employed a clear content hierarchy, intuitive filtering and a consistent design in line with Cracovia Hokej’s visual identity.
Our solution
We have created a clear, browser-based calendar that displays the ice rink’s schedule in an easy-to-read monthly format. The interface has been designed to enable users to find information quickly and to provide a convenient experience on both computers and mobile devices.
Key features:
- filtering the timetable by selected teams,
- selecting multiple teams at once,
- exporting one or more schedules to iCal (.ics) format,
- the option to add the schedule to your own calendar (Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook and other apps supporting the iCal standard),
- a clear monthly view broken down by events,
- a responsive interface optimised for mobile devices.
Effect
A tool has been developed that significantly streamlines day-to-day communication between the club and its players, coaches and parents. Thanks to the ability to filter timetables and export them to their own calendars, users always have the latest training schedule to hand, whilst the club has gained a convenient way of publishing changes to the timetable without having to prepare numerous separate documents.
